I bought this in July 2013. Not from Amazon, but I just wanted to comment in case people are looking at this....11 months later. June 2014:The Linear Compressor died. Good news it has a 10 year warranty. Bad news the repair guy said that unfortunately "a lot of other parts are shot too and need to be replaced". He also mentioned that most likely it will happen again due to the parts LG used. The parts won't arrive for a week, so I guess the parts are in some foreign land where there is no type of expedited shipping for idiots who buy this thing.LG customer was pretty rude overall and even laughed when I mentioned that I'm losing close to $500 worth of food from my fridge and freezer. While I didn't expect sympathy, a snicker was pretty uncool.I realize there are always "lemons", but the support I received will definitely keep me from buying an LG product again especially when there are many other options to choose from.Besides the fact my fridge didn't even last a year, I gave one star due to the lack of support I received. My grandma's fridge has lasted 50 years and counting. Please step it up and take some pride.-----UPDATE-----6 weeks later, yes 6 weeks laterWith NO fridge, parts still have not arrived, and LG is saying that they are not sure when they will have the parts needed. Apparently the warranty is doing me no good now.The distributor has been awesome and said they'd take the fridge back and trade it for a non-LG model...and gave me $200 for all the groceries that spoiled. Thanks for nothing LG, I've moved on and leave my story as a warning to others.I recommend if you do not follow people's advice and buy an LG, make sure to have another non-LG fridge on hand so you can transfer all your food to when you LG dies

Our problem was with the water dispenser and ice maker. We connected the water lines, and tried the dispenser. You could hear the pump working, but no water dispensed. Since the old fridge was making ice up to the day the LG was installed, I assumed it was the fridge. Called LG and was told by technician that it takes a while to fill the reservoir and that some people prop a bar stool against it to give the system a chance to fill. No luck. I took the valve apart in the basement and found the copper thimble had calcifies shut. My Bad. Replace the hose and the valve connections and the water supply to the door was working. According to LG it should fill an 8oz cup in 5 seconds. I had plenty of pressure. Then the ice maker would not fill with water. I called LG back for another go around with a "script reading tech" that reiterated the same info I told them I had already checked. Finally asked to speak to a supervisor. They put me on hold for 8+ min and then said the supervisor would call me in the next 3 hours. In the meantime, the icemaker has filled with water, almost 2 hours after I had an adequate water supply to the door. So there still seems to be something wrong.

I purchased this refrigerator about three weeks ago and I love it. I have had no problems with the ice maker at all. It started making ice after the first 24 hours with no issues. It's very roomy and I can organize my food well. It looks nice in my kitchen, The only problem I have had, is it appears the stainless steel finish scratches easy. I placed a few magnets on the left door above where the ice/water machine are located and I have light scratches as a result. This is why I'm giving it a four rating. I need to find something to buff the light scratches out. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with my purchase.

It is a great refridgerator, but the ice maker is not creating enough ice. We've had a technician already replace the motor and it still isn't working properly. It will only make one tray of ice during an entire night. A tech will be back out in a couple days to try and fix it again. But if this doesn't finally resolve the problem, I'm swapping it out for a different model (non-LG).
