The start kit is a simple fix for one of the most common residential refrigeration problems on units in the 10 - 15 year age range - the "hum & click" symptom.This kit is relatively easy to install, comes with all the parts you should need short of a zip tie, and most average DIYers can probably accomplish its replacement. The parts are likely different from the ones to be replaced and some wiring may be involved for grounding. This product is the same one that a professional would charge you hundreds of dollars to diagnose and then install. Warning: The instructions are not intended for a tutorial on replacing the device. You can find video and instructables online to help you prep and guide you through - proceed with caution.There are hazards to both you and the refrigeration system so proceed with that in mind and with due caution. Experience or the ability to remove and replace in a orderly and documented way will get you through the process. Again, this is the same part the pro would use but, he has experience so he shouldn't need instructions.Are you experiencing a refrigerator that cycles on and off, running for a short period and shutting off, maybe clicking several time before starting again??? I play with refrigerators once in a blue moon. troubleshooting was simple, getting the old unit out was a pain... light and a bit of cleaning revealed some cryptic directions how to get the cover off. But once off, we were sure we had the problem. This part went on easy and works great.

I replaced this product and it still work, but I also still have my same problem. Need to research more to figure out what is happening.
