Awesome Refrigerator

It is true that often you only hear from people who have bad experiences w a product. Before I bought this refrigerator I read all the negative reviews on all the forums and almost cancelled the purchase. Then I called a few of my friends who have similar fridges and they had nothing but praise for it. So, we decided to stay the course and went ahead with the purchase. We have had it for a couple of days now and we are extremely happy w the purchase. Super quiet. Icemaker is awesome. Also, we were worried that the fridge would stick out too much based on the dimensions on the spec. sheet which said it was 36" deep. That is not true. It is more like 33.5" w/o the handle.Will update my review if things change:-)

Freezer issues

We are currently working with samsung to resolve a freezer issue. Not sure if it will be resolved or not. Door does not shut all the way frequently due to poor design of sliding shelf. However I really like everything else:/. Middle drawer is awesome and it's the only one we found where you can open produce drawers inside without opening both doors.

Way too noisy!

I purchased this from Home Depot and it was delivered last week. Within the first hour I knew it was going back. I do not expect a refrigerator to be silent. However, I didn't expect it to give off a high pitched noise. It's an annoying sound that will make you look outside to see if someone is sawing metal because it's somewhat muffled. My inner ear was numb. Also, since it has a digital inverted compressor, it runs almost all of the time. Which was unfortunate because the high pitched noise lasts for 30 minutes per hour before it cycles down to a quieter mode. During the high pitched sound the refrigerator also has a noisy hum/buzz.After this experience I went to the store and started investigating the other Samsung refrigerators. I love the look of Samsung and didn't like any of the other brands. I realized that this model has two vents (one on each side of the refrigerator) which I believe is the cause of the noise issue because you can hear everything from these vents. We turned it on in the store and could hear the same metal/high pitched sound coming from the vents.After checking out all of the Samsung French Door refrigerators, I decided on the RF31FMEDBSR 31 cu ft because it does not have the 2 side vents and when I tested it in the store it seemed quieter. (although it's hard to hear clearly in home depot). I was right, it's MUCH quieter. Most of all, it does not have that metal sound. Also, it doesn't seem to run full throttle as long as the other refrigerator. It was a little noisier the first 3 or 4 hours when it was cooling down at first but it's great now. It's only about 1.25 inches longer so upgrading to the 31 cu ft worked out better anyway. Lots of room, great lighting and I love the middle drawer!
