I owned the Electrolux EW23BC85KS counter depth french door refrigerator for four years. I would think the issues apply to both wave and IQ touch models.Short version of this review:Do not buy this appliance. If interested in another Electrolux refrigerator, I would be very wary if the ice maker is similar to the one in this unit. I had issues with the ice maker for 3 of the 4 years I owned this unit. The ice maker would leak and/or stop producing ice very often. The warranty company serviced it twice. The second time, they decided the unit was NOT REPAIRABLE and sent us a check for $3000 to replace it. I'll be honest here. I was relieved when they said that. My warranty expires in about 10 months and I was dreading have to pay for all of these repairs myself. The good:- No problems with the compressor. Freezer was always at 0°F, fridge at 37°F.-There was what I called the "beer drawer" that kept at 33°F. I thought that was fantastic. Beers and sodas were that much better. However, refrigerators at a lower price point put this into a separate door below the french doors (look at the Samsung models) and are almost $1000 less.- I really liked the ice that the machine produced. They were dome-shaped. The sliver-shaped ice that other machines made would tend to "bunch up" at your mouth when drinking a beverage, preventing the liquids from entering your mouth (I know this sound silly). But the dome-shaped ice from this fridge prevented that from happening.- For it being only a 22.6 cu ft fridge, I found that it fit a lot of stuff. Maybe it was the placement of the shelves that we chose, but I didn't feel that it was "that small." I could fit 5 gallons of milk on the bottom left-hand side of the unit.Read more ›

1 out of 5 stars Never again

Despite paying a pretty penny for our fridge the quality of manufacture is below par. We didn't expect that the lights inside would generate enough heat to blister the ceiling panel. Rather than offering a repair, or product replacement, the manufacturer instead offered a repair kit for $61.00 that essentially consists of two strips of metal foil. This is a manufacturer to avoid! We will never buy another product by Electrolux.

I have had this refrigerator way too long! The doors arrived crooked, the icemaker worked maybe 3 months and never again since regardless of the repairs that never ever fixed the icemaker. The inside shelves chipped a big chunk of metal looking plastic off. I have regretted not doing my homework on this appliance!! I absolutely HATE it. I can't wait to get a new brand this one will not even deserve space in the garage!

This refrigerator has never worked correctly. The ice dispenser only works occasionally and now the water dispenser freezes solid. Even though the problems have never stopped, Electrolux has stopped fixing them. They now say I have to pay for them because it is out of warranty. Very disappointed in this brand and will never buy another Electrolux product.

2 out of 5 stars cracks in the Electrolux fridge

I have an older model of this fridge, EI23BC36IS and have had exactly the same melting/cracks in the back panel caused by the lamps that Electrolux installed.Kitchenaid/Electrolux's solution to the problem was that I buy a new fridge and they would give me a rebate of 60% of the cost of the new fridge, not including taxes, delivery or installation.I am thinking they need to rethink their design a little, not to mention the power of the light bulbs they use.....The seal has also split across the top of the freezer drawer so cleaning it is an issue as well. Not terribly impressed and wishing I had just bought a Kenmore for way less.
