5 out of 5 stars The Best Small Fridge EVER
Michael Peterson

Every other small refrigerator seems to come with a useless tiny freezer and frosting problems. Not this one!!! It's high-tech, inexpensive, and absolutely perfect for a small dorm room or office. Apparently it uses a different cooling system.

Let me just say that this little frige is well worth the money. I purchased mine at an appliance store and the sales person tried to talk me out of it. He said it probably wouldn't get things very cold. We did not find a lot of feedback from customers on-line, but I decided to trust my luck. I am glad that I did. Even on the medium setting my pop and water are kept very cold. The frige is very quiet. I wish it was a little smaller, but it is very light weight and since there is no compressor the inside space is maximized and it fits a lot of stuff.Great little frige!

5 out of 5 stars GOOD, FUNCTIONAL MINI REFRIG
Karen Watson

SHP1700W RefrigeratorMay 16, 2011I have had this mini refrig. for approx. 2 months. I was looking for a lightweight mini refrig, that cooled well and would hold a bottle of wine (upright) and soft drinks. This is it! I like my drinks to be very cold so I keep this on the coolest setting. According to my refrig. thermometer, the temp stays between 34 & 38 degrees F. I have noticed no discernable difference in my electric bill. The 2 shelves are adjustable or removable as needed. The door has the usual built in shelf for holding the upright, large wine or 3 liter soft drink bottle. There is a bar which holds the items on the shelf. Only one upright bottle fits here. Smaller items (cans, condiment bottles such as mustard, ketsup, pickles, etc) can fit next to the upright bottle on this shelf. There is a smaller built in shelf which fits above the condiments which might hold butter or other small items. It also has a bar across it. I place 12 oz. cans, in a row of 5 on top and 5 on bottom, on each shelf in the main body of the refrig. (that's a total of 3 shelves counting the bottom of the refrig.). I will try to remember to update this again around the 1 year mark. I am very pleased with this so far.UPDATE:MAY 9, 2012I have owned this mine refrig. for 1 year and 2 months. The fan is now making the most gawd-awful noise ever! It will wake me for a sound sleep it is so loud. For the time being, I can turn the unit off for 1 hour and then restart it and it runs silently for awhile. I can see that I will, soon, have to get rid of this.Read more ›

5 out of 5 stars A very quiet minifridge
Doug Trouten

I ordered this because the minifridge in my office was getting too noisy -- when the compressor kicked in the buzz was so loud that it was distracting. This little fridge is very, very quiet. In fact, I never hear it. It just sits quietly under a counter, keeping my beverages cool. On the "medium" setting it reaches an ideal temperature for cans of pop. If you're looking for a nice, quiet minifridge, check this one out.

3 out of 5 stars Not as quiet as I thought
Happy Squishy

I bought this fridge for work because it is supposed to be really quiet. Even though it does not have a compressor, the noise from the fan is noticeable (certainly louder than what I expected). The back of the body is cheaply made (the bottom is even worse), it is made out of a sheet of soft metal, so sometimes the vibrations from the fan will make some really annoying metal noise, and the pitch changes every time. It is hard to stop it because the metal is so soft. I tried to hold it to stop the vibration, but it did not work.I compared my fridge with my coworker's traditional fridge, without the vibration noise from the sheet metal it is still not quieter than the traditional fridge. But if a traditional fridge is made out of cheap material, they may have the same problem. So, I don't want to give this fridge a bad review. I think 3 stars is fair.Space: I am impressed how spacious the interior is because it does not have a compressor.Cooling: I was using "Medium" setting and I was happy with it. Then I tried "Low" setting, it is not much different than "Medium" setting.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic, quiet fridge

Have used in my office for about two weeks now.1) Arrived safely, no damage2) So quiet I never hear it- and it sits under my desk right next to my chair in a very quiet office. I think the others that have complained of noise must have gotten a unit with a bad fan bearing or some other defect.3) Cools extremely well. I like the thermostat being inside the fridge instead of on the back (as is the case with some other brands).4) Really like that there is no tiny freezer inside. No frost. No wasted space.5) Like the layout for keeping drinks, large watter bottle and yogurts.I researched a lot of mini-fridges on Amazon and a lot of other brands seem to have quality / functionality issues. I highly recommend this fridge.

5 out of 5 stars So far, so good!

The fridge arrived undamaged!! Usually, when I order a small fridge, it arrives looking like UPS played soccer with it (past experiences were bought at Sears).I bought it for employee food for a small department. So far, there have been NO complaints, and that is a very good thing!
