++++++++++++++++Update: After 3 years of use the Water/Ice dispenser arm broke in the *flow* position and partially flooded my kitchen. Luckily my wife caught it in time before it did major damage. The arm broke because it was under tension by the return spring and the plastic just gave way and fractured after 3 years of use. Also the only way to repair is to buy the whole Dispenser module for around $90 plus shipping. You cannot just buy the broken piece.FYI: The front control console will cost close to $500 to replace. So purchasing additional warratny is advisable. I wish I did!!!++++++++++++++++I actually have the EW26SS65GS which only differs slightly with the touch controls. The high point of this refrigerator that makes it stand out from the crowd is that it is fully constructed in stainless steel while the others just have stainless steel cladding in the front but not on the sides. This makes for a handsome refrigerator since this is not a counter depth model so the sides show. Both freezer and refrigerator interior has ample storage. The interior lights have a nice effect of being initally dim at first and then fully brightens up.A good point is the vacation mode you can set that saves electricity by not turning on the defrosting cycle when you are away.My only grievance is the the design of the ice dispenser which delivers the ice (both cubes and crushed) which such force and intensity that the ice is spilled all over the floor and a clean up is always necessary. My 4 year old kid is so afraid to use it.The delivery men do not install the water dispenser hose so I had to do it myself and it was somewhat of an effort threading it properly. I mis-threaded the first hose and had to buy an aftermarket replacement at $7. It seems that the original hose is hard to find item. For the $2,500 we paid for it, we expected that the Ice dispenser flaw would have been discoverd and remedied before production.FYI: unit made in Mexico. This is worst appliance I have ever owned. The 15 year old $700 refrigerator I have in my garage is of higher quality and performance than this one. Please do not anyone else waste their money on an Electrolux refrigerator. The display has been replaced 3 times and is now broken again. The water and ice dispenser are broken - just snapped off one day. And now, it powers off for no reason at random times and then the power fail beeping goes off. When I try to power it back on, it takes 15 minutes to kick back on - with the beeping going off the entire time. None of the display keys work (i.e mute sounds or on/off, factory default). It often happens at night or when we are not home so we end up losing our food because it has defrosted or we are nervous - not knowing how long it was down. I have called Electrolux at least 8 times over the years about these issues and they just tell me it is not under warranty and they are not obligated to do anything. They told me today they only have a record of 3 calls from me ... I have called them 3 times just in the last 2 weeks. Horrible product, horrible customer service and will not stand behind their shoddy equipment. I NEVER review products but I hope that this will prevent anyone else from buying this money pit. I would never buy another Electrolux product.

I wish I would have studied this thing before buying, but I did not. We were taken by the looks and the neat lighting, geeze. Purchased in summer '08, first problem was the control panel which failed during a storm, replaced under warranty. Next up, the water filler push / trigger broke, of course in the ON position. Out of warranty, purchased the part from Electrolux, someplace in the $100 range. Now we have an interior water leak I am working on. It is leaking from the bottom left side of the freezer door, only after you use the water or ice dispenser, so I'm figuring a leak in that area. No solution yet.Tips for those that also have this boat anchor and are living with it. It does not do well with power interuptions. After the initial control panel failure I did some research. Everbody says you cannot use a UPS with a fridge. But they are all wrong. 3 years ago I puchased a CyberPower AVR1500 UPS and it has saved several probably control panel failures on the fridge. The fridge draws a max of about 975 watts, and the CyberPower shows it is using less than half the available capacity. This is perfect for surviving thunderstorms with related lightning strikes, brownouts, short term power failure. It will easily power the fridge for 20 minutes, and provides you plenty of time to shut the fridge off from the control panel if it looks like a longer term outage. I highly recommend a UPS if you are saddled with this fridge if you are in an area where you get frequent power problems, such as north Texas, it will pay for itself. ps - POJ means piece of junk.Edit - Update, leak turns to be from the filter. Pulling it out from the wall made it a bit more obvious, discovered drips from bottom sides of both doors, looked inside the filter side and it was obvious.

Ice and water dispenser started acting up about six months after we bought it. It would stay "on" and spray water/ice all over the floor. It was an intermittent problem so I unfortunately ignored it. Now it happens 50% of the time we use it. We keep a large pitcher by the fridge for the kids to grab if someone makes the mistake of trying to get water or ice. It will empty half the dispenser before stopping. Complaints about Electrolux ice makers are all over the Internet. If you call Electrolux, they will say they have never heard of problems like the ones described all over the Internet and will offer to line you up with a local repair guy, that will tell you that you need a new front panel for $500.00 plus installation.Maybe they made good vacuum cleaners a few years ago, but this is not what I thought I was getting when I spent two grand on a refrigerator! If you never want ice or water out of the dispenser, I suppose it works OK. It freezes everything in the meat drawer even on the lowest setting. One of the worst purchasing decisions I have ever made.
