2 out of 5 stars It works but there are some con's I want to pass along which may help you decide to purchase or not purchase

I have had this unit for less than a month. It functions fine as a freezer and refrigerator. Only the front is stainless, the sides is painted grey. The uppermost drawer sticks and has been difficult to open from day 1 although I expect that will be alleviated with daily use as the plastic edge will wear down to a correct fit. The water dispenser is positioned too far away from the cup pressure level (the lever you press to dispense ice and water). So unless you have an unusually large mouthed cup you will end up with water all over your hand and the floor. The biggest problem I have with the unit is that it makes odd noises throughout the day. It makes a chattering noise as if ice is being produced. I turned the icemaker off to see if the problem was indeed a noisy icemaker but the chattering continued. I then thought perhaps the icemaker was turning the ice to prevent it from becoming a big ice brick but that was not the case based on visual evidence and reading of the manual. This is where I learned that the chattering is considered normal. At this point it is 4 days from the 30 day return window and I am not sure if I will keep the unit or not...a noisy fridge is not acceptable to me...it is loud enough to distract me from what ever I am doing at that time. If that noise was not present and the dispenser sent water to the correct location I would certainly be keeping the unit and I would have given it 4 stars. Who wants to deal with a wet hand and a noisy fridge? The more I think about it the more I think I will be returning the unit.

4 out of 5 stars So far, so good except for one major flaw

I purchased this refrigerator at Best Buy for $999.00. Did my homework online, went to 3 major stores. Was looking at 3 different refrigerators . I saw this at Best Buy on sale for $1,100.00. I went to a huge chain store that was similar to Best Buy, but twice as big. I hated the store, but they had the refrigerator for $999.00. Back to Best Buy to see if they would match price & they did. It was also delivered 2 days earlier than other store could. My refrigerator died while I was away & my husband didn't have the sense to take the food to the refrigerator & chest freezer in our basement, so I lost quite a bit of food. I have had the refrigerator for 5 days. I find it to be very quiet, it has quite a bit of space & extra features. The lights are fantastic! I hate the gray sides, but I knew that when I bought it. All of the plastic inside is extremely cheap(the refrigerators costing $500.00 more were the same way), the plastic that holds items in, on the shelves on the door comes out along with the item I am removing, if it is a larger item. My biggest complaint is how slow the icemaker is. If you have it on regular mode, it produces 4 or 5 ice cubes in a 90 minute period(that is according to the manual). If you set it on quick ice, it's not much better. The quick ice automatically shuts off in 12 hrs. At 5:00 on Tuesday 6/24 I set the icemaker on quick ice, when it would auto. shut off, I would set it back on quick ice again, within an hour or 2. Fri. night, the 27th, I finally had an almost full bin of ice. I threw it out, as you are supposed to do, but being the way I am, I want to make a 2nd bin & throw it away too, before using the ice. Since Fri. night it has been set on quick ice continuously & I have less than a 1/4 of a bin of ice. The water works fine, so there is nothing wrong with the water lines. I just can't believe how slow the icemaker is! I have had some trouble adjusting the refrig. & freezer temps., but I have only had the refrig. for 5 days & I think that I just have to work with the temps. until they are right. You can't tell a lot in 5 days, but overall, I think it's a pretty nice refrigerator, with many nice features! For the price, I don't think that you can beat it! Read more ›

5 out of 5 stars It Doesn't Get Much Better....

We recently purchased this exact Frigidaire model from a local Best Buy for the same price shown here. We replaced an 8 year old LG french door-bottom freezer which had served us pretty well but I never liked the bottom freezer design for personal preference reasons. The LG had the ice maker built into the back of the door and was slow to make ice; this unit has the ice maker in the freezer where it should be. So far it has been perfect in almost every way for us.Pros:Love the LED lighting inside.Very quiet (compared to our LG)Efficient at only $62 to run per year (amazing!)Smudge proof Stainless finish (how do they do that?)Very well designed touch panelPull out shelves5 lbs of ice each dayCons:Water dispenser takes some getting used to. It has a slight delay when turning off. Pull the glass out slightly until water stops then remove completely. All in all I am very impressed with this refrigerator for the money spent.
