Bad IcemakerJ. Green
We held our breath to purchase appliances online. The seller is great but the fridge not so much. The Icemaker wasn't working out of the box, so under a year's warranty we had someone come to fix it. They are here right at this moment "fixing" it for a second time. The first visit they replaced the entire icemaker, but has still only produce like 8 cubes in two days. Then soon after icemaker replacement our fridge is making a horrid buzzing sound. I am not sure if it is the icemaker of the fridge itself. Apparently the evaporator is frosted over and the fan blade is smacking the ice making a bad sound. Other than the icemaker/ frosting problems the fridge is just okay. There doesn't seem to much more space in the French door fridge from a standard fridge, the freezer seems to be much bigger than a standard freezer though. The shelves are typical cheap plastic. The right door has a large magnet on the side that often gets caught between the doors when closing. We were also expecting a made in America fridge, not the case, it is made in Mexico. If I were to buy again I'd go for a single door fridge on top w/ single freezer on the bottom. I prefer the fridge on top to reduce bending down. I don't know if I'd go for an Icemaker though. It seems as though Frigidaire, also known as Electrolux, the global company doesn't produce very good icemakers, but I've know other brands to produce bad icemakers as well such as whirlpool.Other appliances in the package: So far so good.Dishwasher: has been a big upgrade over our last cheapo run of the mill. It has three levels of cleaning, a spinner at the bottom, top and middle. It cleans well and has lots of space for dishes.Stove/oven: I like the flat surface, no problems here.Microwave: No problems, works like a microwave should.
